Red Rock Calves
Dustin Glover has an excellent set of Red Rock calves on the ground. Red Rock is working on a wide variety of cows to downsize and add bone, hair, and power. The calves are stout and chubby. Kent Orrell also has several nice Red Rock calves out of Hereford cows. Watch for those pictures to come.

Brower Show Cattle
The great thing about traveling all the time is being able to visit with old friends when passing through. This week I stopped by Brower Show Cattle in Andarko, Oklahoma for a visit. Brower Show Cattle is owned by Jenna Brower, a former OSU Alumni. Southwestern Oklahoma is absolutely gorgeous this time of the year, and while it was getting dark when I got there we were able to snap a few pictures of Jenna's donor cows and the one pictured below she will be flushing to Red Rock, so watch for those calves next year!
Born Ranches and my favorite Show Heifer
This past week I had the opportunity to go to one of my favorite places, the Texas panhandle. My love of the panhandle started out my junior year of high school. I wanted a Hereford steer so bad for my senior year and my dad and I were determined to find one. We made several trips to Oklahoma and Texas, and were fortunate enough to meet Mr. Stan Born from Darrouzett, Texas. Not only did we find a steer, but we also found my all time favorite show heifer, TEX Ms Rachel. While Rachel wasn't always the most pleasant show heifer in the world, she once ran out of the show ring backwards during the Supreme Drive, we did have alot of success and she has made a tremendous cow.
This week I went back to the Born Ranch to photograph a bull Stan raised, he is a Carpe Diem son named Encore and he looks tremendous. He is extremely wide based, big boned, stout, soft made, and has great hair. Semen will be available this fall and I look forward to flushing my "favorite show heifer" to him.
Welcome to The Advantage
Advantage Livestock Marketing offers a broad range of livestock marketing tools. The business was built around cattle photography and has grown into so much more. We offer photography and videography services for all species of livestock, print ad design, sale and sire directory catalog design, and promotional consulting.
To get a better feel of the business I will give you all a background of myself. I was born in Canton, Georgia where I grew up on a small cattle farm, I purchased my heifer when I was 3 years old at the sale barn with my dad. I wanted a bottle calf so bad so while he wasn't looking I raised my hand and my cow herd began from there. I begin showing in 4-H when I was 9 years old, showing mainly Hereford and Crossbred steers and heifers. After high school I went off to Stephenville, Texas to Tarleton State University for 2 years and then graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in AgriBusiness with a marketing option. Through my college years I had the opportunity to meet many great people involved in the livestock industry that have influenced my life greatly.
My love of cattle photography began at a young age. My mom said last week she is so thankful for digital cameras now because when she would have film developed when I was little half the roll would be of cows. Now I am thankful to be doing what I love, traveling and working with many great livestock producers.
As the spring rolls around don't forget about spring calf pictures for the August and State Fair issues of all the magazines for those having Labor Day and fall bid-off sales. Also, check out the new website designed by Kasey Witherspoon at KW Design Group: www.advantagelivestockmarketing.com.
